Raising Good Gamers is a research-backed educational framework that reframes gaming as a unifying experience rather than a source of conflict, through hands-on workshops for parents. Play-based and informative, these discussion sessions help parents develop skills that build connection at the same time as they reinforce healthy boundaries – weaving together a foundation of healthy gaming habits for families.
Parents, educators, family-serving organizations, and gaming industry leaders have come together to build a Family Gaming Code of Conduct, the SPACE Framework, and ongoing Conversation Guides so that parents walk away equipped to make informed choices about the role of gaming in their home.
Video games provide an incredible opportunity to learn digital citizenship, collaboration, social-emotional, STEAM, and resilience skills. And as parents engage with these workshops, their play reinforces how gaming offers critical thinking, leadership, empathy, and resilience skill-building while bringing joy and connection.
Virtual workshops will take place on September 29 [10 AM EST], October 20 [6 PM EST], and November 19 [3 PM EST], with more in-person and virtual sessions planned.
